Welcome

Using an integrative approach, I provide individual therapy to adults with a wide variety of issues. I use a combination of psychoanalytic, cognitive, and hypnotherapy techniques. One or all of these techniques might be right for you at any given time during the course of treatment.

Therapy is a collaborative effort whereby we explore material from the unconscious which to a great extent drives our feelings and actions. I provide a safe atmosphere of non-judgment and empathy. My approach is warm and supportive. I take my work very seriously but also have a sense of humor and relaxed style. It is a pleasure helping individuals utilize their personal creativity to manage emotions and take on life's challenges. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is of utmost importance.

One of my specialties is helping people to overcome agoraphobia and gain the confidence to re-enter places and situations which they have come to fear. Anxiety can manifest in a myriad of ways and can range in intensity from frustrating to debilitating. I understand and can help. Please contact me for a free initial session. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Dr. Maria Cocoros

Fees & Insurance

Fees
We will discuss payment options during our initial session. If you do not have insurance, I have a limited number of slots for sliding-scale fee clients, which is a reduced fee offered based on financial need.

Insurance
I am considered an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies. Here are some questions that you'll need to ask your insurance company to find out about coverage:

  • Do I have mental health benefits?
  • What mental health services (intake, therapy, psychological testing, etc.) are covered by my insurance plan?
  • Do I have a deductible?  If so, how much of my deductible has been met?
  • How many therapy sessions are covered by my insurance plan each calendar year?
  • What percentage of my bill will be covered for services provided by an out-of-network provider?
